Berkeley Halls curriculum and teaching approach lends itself well to a wide range of learners. It is neither purely a progressive,nor purely traditional. We have a rigorous reading and writing program and a research-based mathematics program that our teachers are constantly improving based on student assessment data. We also have an award-winning art program, competitive team sports for grades th-th, and specialist classes including Spanish, music, drama, science, library, PE, and Innovation Lab. A Berkeley Hall student will spend part of their classroom time gathered on the rug for a mini-lesson (yes, even middle schoolers!), part of their time working in small groups or conferencing individually with teachers, part of their time sharing aloud and in writing their thought process, and part of their time building in our Innovation Lab or exploring or playing sports on our -acre campus.
