WillCo Management Group LLC (WillCo) is a diverse business enterprise (DBE) that began in Feb 2010. The company's origins stem from the principal partners coming together under the banner of a research and development firm called Interactive Grid Solutions or IGS. IGS studied trends and analyzed the needs of the public utilities industry in order to develop appropriate solutions. The firm used its resources to develop emerging technologies for Smart Grid applications and applied for patents involving distributed energy source systems.
The principal partners are Kevin Williams and Dr. Barrett Hatches. Williams serves as the Chief Executive Officer, while Dr. Hatches is the President and Chief Administrative Officer. Together, these two visionaries combined their talents and experience to create a comprehensive consulting and services company. The principals have decades of experience working in the corporate arena for fortune 500 companies and each has launched successful privately held firms.
The IGS name was changed to WillCo Management Group, LLC in 2012 to offer an array of products and services to the energy, telecommunications, and government sectors. After two years of working together to enhance capabilities and develop strong relationships, the principals structured the company to meet the needs of its clients. The company used lessons learned from R&D activities and surveying stakeholders in various industries to create a comprehensive suite of products and service offerings.
WillCo has service offerings that can be categorized through the acronym EPIC. The company provides Energy services, Pipeline services, Information Technology services, and Consulting services. The Energy services include; data capture and conversion, SCADA systems design and development, asset mapping, Facilities management, as well as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) design and development. We also provide a number of Smart Grid capabilities to support a comprehensive smart grid deployment plan.
Pipeline services include; natural gas pipeline construction, water and sewer drilling and installation, electrical and telecommunications drilling and installation, and environmental management. The IT competencies include; systems integration, Cybersecurity, software development, and program management. The consulting services include business development, leadership development, and project management.
Today, WillCo provides products and services from its Kansas City, MO based headquarters and satellite office in San Diego, CA. The company plans to expand operations throughout California in 2012 and increase activities for the public utility markets.
