Not only have I been a published recording artist, I have worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry. I have a vast amount of experience in production, mixing, mastering, recording and developing talent and bring it all to bear on making your sound something special.
I have worked with Usher, Amy Winehouse, Maxwell, John Legend, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Mariah Carey, Common, Gorillaz and many more.

Resumé / BioMIchael Makowski has been eating, sleeping, and breathing music since his days in Wilmington NC as frontman MC / saxophonist for the experimental Hip Hop Band JEDI. During this time he went by the the stage name Royal-T and established his own ASCAP publishing company called Royal Plaid Publishing to protect the band's song rights. After JEDI acquired a manager/ booking agent Ken Grey of Grey Multimedia (now called Premier Artist Group in West Palm Beach,FL) , the group was scheduled as the opening act on the RUN-DMC reunion tour. After the news of DJ Jam Master Jay's murder , JEDI went on a 3 month hiatus. During this time his Drummer and DJ both fell off the map because of personal reasons. Sooo.... Michael realized that he had to do music for the rest of his life and Wilmington NC wasn't the place to make that happen. He packed his car one night and drove to his friends house in Tarpon Springs,FL. Within a year Michael enrolled into the Recording Arts program at FULLSAIL University in Orlando,FL. After graduating in 2005 with a 95 GPA and Perfect Attendance, he moved to NYC where he landed an internship at the world-famous Chung King Studios.
Michael began perfecting his engineering skills at Chung King Studios along side mixing Greats : Tom Soares (Erykah Badu), Brian Stanley(Usher, Chris Brown), Tony Maserati (John Legend, B.I.G., MJB) . He accumulated experiences with every A-list artist, producer, and mix engineer. -He has been apart of 13 Grammy-award winning teams.(5)AmyWinehouse (2)Maxwell (1)Common (2)Usher (3)John Legend & the Roots. most recently along side of WILL.I.AM when he wrote & produced OMG for USHER . Michael went on to help engineer the John Legend & the Roots album. After the closing of Chung King Studios, a week later he became the chief engineer at Water Music Publishing/SmackWater Music Studios in Nutley, NJ. He has been working alongside 2 of the hottest writers in the game with Taj Jackson (Lionel Richie They call it Love, Eliot Yamin-Wait for You, Mario How Do I Breathe, JoeIf I was your Man ) & Autumn Rowe ( Alexis Jordan Happiness & Good Girl,Cher Lloyd's first single Swagger jagger, and Leona Lewis's first single, COLLIDE, who's AfroJack Remix is up for a Grammy this year) I was informed last week that 4 of my mixes are on Taj's JAPAN album Its Not Over. Also last year I engineered the team (MyKeyz & Digi Chammas) that created the HIT song Jack Sparrow feat. Michael Bolton & Lonely Island, which ended up on the Pirates of the Caribbean Movie. Over the 2011 Holidays I re-wired the amazing LIVINLIVE STUDIOS in Queens Village,NY. Also I mixed 4 songs for STORI (NEXT DAY ENT) that led to her eventual deal with Universal Motown. The past 3 years I have also been developing an artst who is well on her way to super stardom named Amanda Holley (www.listentoamanda.com) I currently am using my recording skills, mixing , & consulting artists for their next EP, demo, mixtape/album. If you need an engineer that has a never say die attitude, will work around the clock until the client is 100% satisfied, and has the experience of 13 Grammys under his belt......then Michael Makowski is the guy you need for your next project.
