Los Angeles Community College District Student Trustee
October 2010 - May 2011

Endowed with the student vote during bi-monthly open session district board of trustee meetings to vote on educational policies to be implemented within the District and the 9 Los Angeles Community Colleges. I participated in the shared governance committees at the district level along with other students, staff, faculty and administrators. I also chaired a monthly committee with nine student leaders from the nine Los Angeles Colleges student governments and administrators. Co-founded the California Community College Student Trustees Associated (CCCAST) and was its first secretary. Assisted in writing the organization's constitution and bylaws with ten other student trustees from various California Community College Districts. I was also the 2011 commencement speaker at Los Angeles City College and Los Angeles Southwest College.

With a team of twenty elected student leaders at Los Angeles City College, I helped maintain a yearly budget of $195,000. Of the $195,000. I oversaw a portion of the budget of $5,000 per semester for three semesters of which I was to provide fifty $100 educational book grants to students.

Created documents utilizing 2007 Microsoft Office for students and coworkers for time sheets, forms, log sheets, flyers, posters, book grants, reports, and financial requests. made copies and faxed items for students, made travel itineraries for co-workers to statewide conferences. Customer Service, met with students on a daily basis to assist campus issues, campus clubs or other campus related matters. Created projects and events on campus that would include up to over 300 students in attendance. Managed 20 student leaders attendance at meetings, events and conferences.

I helped interview paid office staff for student government. Chaired several shared governance committees of up to 20 members. Met with faculty and administrators on weekly basis for campus wide committees. Cast the student vote in shared governance committees and organizations at the local, district and statewide level alongside fellow student leaders, staff, faculty and administrators on campus policies that would be implemented campus wide.
